MOSCOW, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The sanctions against Russia imposed by the government of former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida have damaged Japan's national interests and become a "negative legacy," Japanese House of Councillors member Muneo Suzuki said on Tuesday.
"I believe that the economic sanctions adopted during the Biden administration, which Kishida joined, made no sense. I want to steer the situation toward the need to lift the sanctions. And I believe that we need to move in that direction," Suzuki said during an interview with RIA Novosti.
"He followed Biden completely, and that has remained a negative legacy. I believe that was bad and harmed our national interests," he added. ■
