KABUL, May 5 (Xinhua) -- A total of 34 persons were injured as the roof of a house collapsed during a wedding party in eastern Afghanistan's Kunar province on Monday, a statement of the provincial government said Tuesday.

A wedding party was underway in Chapa Dara district when the roof of a house caved in, leaving 34 persons including men, women and children injured, the statement said, citing Abdul Mabin Maftoon, the head of National Disaster Management Authority in the province as saying.

All the injured persons have been transported to a hospital in the provincial capital Asadabad. ■
