SEOUL, March 20 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's fish farming production slightly rose last year, statistical ministry data showed Friday.
The cultured fish amounted to 82,807 tons in 2025, up 1.1 percent compared to the previous year, according to the Ministry of Data and Statistics.
Production of flatfish, mullet and flounder increased, but output for rockfish tumbled in double digits.
In terms of value, fish farming production advanced 12.1 percent to 1.36 trillion won (908.4 million U.S. dollars) in 2025.
The number of fish farming businesses retreated 1.9 percent to 1,420 last year, while the number of those working in the businesses reduced 2.7 percent to 5,204. ■
