TOKYO, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Monday with a positive lead late last week from Wall Street providing early buying impetus and solid earnings reports from domestic firms keeping the market buoyant.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 107.38 points, or 0.47 percent, from Friday to close the day at 22,865.86.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 10.96 points, or 0.61 percent, to finish at 1,805.92.
Real estate, warehousing and harbor transportation service, and chemical-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
